Poem on lightning

Lightning

The sky darkens
Light drops fall
It thickens
Heavier bigger drops disturb the surface of the water
Pelting everything
Pouring out of the gutters
Splashing onto the grass
Forming puddles on the sidewalk
The sky lights up
Pure electricity and heat zigzagging it's way across the sky
It is gone in an instant
A rumble starts, quickly leading up into a bang
The sound dies off
The sky lights up again followed by a bang
A voice comes up on the loudspeakers asking for us to get out of the pool
More rain pours down

  2. I love those verbs, Jack: "pelting, pouring, forming puddles, lights up" and on. This is so like our storms here!
